Position: Development Director. Based in Washington, DC.
Job Description: The Development Director is a senior-level position that reports directly to the Executive Director; the Director will manage a Development Assistant. The Development Director is responsible for the overall implementation of all fundraising programs to help YDA meet a $3m budget for 2008. YDA is a non-federal 527.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Execute all aspects of major donor program, including meetings, call time, and briefings for President and Executive Director, events, research, and maintenance of donor database;
- Design and draft donor prospecting materials, monthly donor emails, and other donor communications;
- Cultivate sponsorships from labor, allied organizations, and corporate donors;
- Manage low-dollar giving including Tomorrow Club (monthly membership sustainability program), online donations, and phone prospecting programs;
- Work with Board of Directors to meet individual and collective fundraising goals;
- Assist the Executive Director with donor reports;
- Assist the Operations Director and Treasurer with preparation of monthly financial reports of donations and financial disclosure reports;
- Supports state Executive Directors and state and local chapter leaders on fundraising activities, including online donation pages, joint events, and trainings;
- Create fundraising training materials for chapters and lead trainings at National Conferences.
Applicants should have at least five years fundraising experience in Democratic or progressive politics. Ideal applicant will have experience with national Democratic Party committees, statewide targeted candidate campaigns, or other similar national fundraising programs as well as both major donor and low-dollar fundraising experience. Familiarity with online fundraising is a plus.
Applicants should be detail-oriented, comfortable with multi-tasking, and able to work in a fast-paced office environment. Strong oral and written communications skills are required. This position will require frequent travel. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience. Also includes fully covered health/dental insurance, reimbursement for cell phone, and attendance to at least one conference/professional development opportunity per year.

Position: Young Democrats of Arizona Chapter Organizers
Where: One Chapter Organizer based in Maricopa County, and one Chapter Organizer based in Pima County.
Hours: Part time, minimum of 20 hours per week.
Salary: $500 Monthly Stipend.
Job Description: The Young Democrats of Arizona Chapter Organizers report directly to the Executive Director of the Young Democrats of Arizona (YDAZ). The YDAZ Chapter Organizers are responsible for the implementation of projects as assigned on behalf of the Young Democrats of Arizona and the Young Democrats of America. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Chartering new chapters using leads provided by YDAZ, aiding them in finding sponsors and meeting other school requirements.
- Organizing region events including meetings, happy hours, and organizing conventions.
- Developing and maintaining a YDAZ internet membership building strategy.
- Scheduling officer/ staff visits to the new and current chapters as needed.
- Coordinating special projects with chapter leaders as needed.
- Making weekly progress reports to the YDAZ president and ED.

Position: Executive Director, Ohio Young Democrats

The Ohio Young Democrats (OYD) is the official youth arm of the Ohio Democratic Party, comprised of progressive people under the age of 36.
Job Description: The Young Democrats of America is continuing to expand state-based staff as part of our State Partnership Programs. State Executive Directors work to build long-term infrastructure for
the youth movement. The Ohio Young Democrats Executive Director reports directly to the President of the Ohio Young Democrats and to Senior State Executive Director of the Young Democrats of America. The position is based in Columbus, OH.
The Ohio Young Democrats Executive Director is responsible for the overall implementation of programs on behalf of the Ohio Young Democrats and the Young Democrats of America. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Manage the daily operations of the Ohio Young Democrats.
- Organize Young Democrats chapters in targeted counties across the state and work to strengthen existing chapters.
- Work with the OYD Executive Board to develop and implement the Ohio Young Democrats Strategic Plan, specifically planning and implementing peer-to-peer campaign activities, chapter building activities, and coordinating with other progressive grassroots organizations.
- Create and fund yearly budget, ensuring that the budget is met through effective donor solicitation and marketing efforts. Work with OYD Treasurer to meet financial reporting requirements.
- Plan and coordinate events such as Executive Board and Committee meetings, convention activities, regular conferences, and trainings.
- Handle all media, scheduling, communication, and appearance requests for Ohio Young Democrats and the Ohio Young Democrats President.
- Continue collaborative and cooperative relationships with the Ohio Democratic Party, Young Democrats of America, the Ohio College Democrats and other progressive groups to ensure high visibility and effective activism.
- Manage additional temporary campaign staff brought on to complete the OYD's peer-to-peer campaign program.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits: $30,000 to $40,000 annually, health insurance, and reimbursement for cell phone.
