The Young America's Foundation, a far far right-wing youth organization that prides itself on being "the place the conservative movement starts," recently released a report that argues that the vast leftist conspiracy continues to ruin higher education by (wait for it) forcing graduates to listen to liberal commencement speakers.

Normally I'm not in the business of promoting conservative dogma and indoctrination - but you REALLY need to go and take a look at this report.  It is absolutely hilarious, or as our ED called it in the Washington Times this morning, "laughable."

I want to warn you, this report is so ridiculous it reads like something written by the Publisher Emeritus of The Onion, T. Herman Zweibel.

Here are some of the horrible things that upcoming commencement speakers have done to earn YAF's scorn.

Princeton University, Bradley Whitford
Whitford, the former West Wing actor, has said that preemptive war, tax cuts, and the death penalty are all un-Christian.

California Institute of Technology, Jared Diamond Diamond is a UCLA Professor who strongly believes in the leftist positions of overpopulation and man-induced global warming.

Rice University, John Doerr
Doerr is a venture capitalist who cried while talking about the “threat” of global warming.

Emory University, Paul Farmer
Farmer is known as the Robin Hood of the medical world. He believes that health care is a right.

George Washington University, Ralph J. Cicerone
Ralph J. Cicerone is president of the National Academy of Sciences and a proponent in the belief that man is largely responsible for global warming.

Goodness no!  They believe in and care about Global Warming!  They actually think that HEALTH CARE IS A RIGHT!  HOW DARE THEY CORRUPT OUR YOUTH! 

Wow.

I know what you are thinking, but NO - I did not make this up or doctor the quotes.  Those are the actual STATED OBJECTIONS to each of these speakers. 

Trust me though, the list gets better - you gotta go check it out.  Not even Oprah escapes the YAF wrath.

YAF needs to understand that it is simply difficult to find intelligent and articulate commencement speakers who don't accept the scientific fact that global warming is real, doesn't believe that quality health care is a good thing, and doesn't make it a practice to mock the noble struggle in our nation for equality and civil rights.

Then again, they may understand that just fine - but don't care.  In their report the people they suggest for commencement speeches are (ready for it?): Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Matt Drudge.  What, no Ann Coulter? 

To our friends at YAF:  Please PLEASE keep this up.  The more young Americans are exposed to your completely out of touch, radically out of the mainstream, and embarrassingly delusional ravings the more they will realize how bad for our nation the conservative movement and the Republican Party are.

Of course - they seem to be getting that just fine without you.
