(Mt. Laurel, NJ) -- The national Young Democrats of America (YDA) endorsed Shelley Adler for Congress today in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District as part of their 2012 voter outreach initiative. The first ever YDA endorsement list comes on the heels of the launch of the YDA Millennial Promise Program, which highlights a group of 19 promising candidates from the Millennial generation or candidates who have uniquely promised to support our priorities and values.
South Jersey Young Democrats President Dan Sperrazza said, "We are thrilled that the national spotlight has come to South Jersey in support of Shelley's campaign to protect our hard working middle-class families. We've already seen her commitment to our state's youth with a campaign based on protecting Social Security and Medicare. We know that by sending Shelley to Congress we'll have another advocate who'll work tirelessly to bring a new direction to the way government is being run."
"As a single parent of four boys, Shelley uniquely knows the struggles facing our area's youth. She knows that real educational opportunities will lead to good jobs and a stronger economy," said Chris James, the statewide Young Democrats President. James added, "Young Democrats nationally see the importance of sending Shelley to Washington — because they know, unlike her opponent, she'll fight to keep jobs right here in New Jersey and save programs like Social Security and Medicare."
The New Jersey Young Democrats (NJYD) & the South Jersey Young Democrats (SJYD) are chartered units of the Young Democrats of America comprised of YD's under forty years old.
