South Carolina Young Dems Protest GOP Prez Debate

The South Carolina Young Democrats and Americans Against the Escalation in Iraq joined forces today at a press conference to unveil a joint effort to highlight the need for an end to the war in Iraq with a great moving billboard.

From the press release:

"These Republicans cannot dodge the giant elephant in the room," said South Carolina Young Democrat Rasha'd Gaines. "The President's 'Mission Accomplished' thinking has proven he cannot be trusted to manage the war. Its time for all Republicans to stand up to the self-proclaimed 'Commander Guy'" concluded Gaines.

"The Conflict has gone on long enough, the situation is not getting any better, and I think it is time for it to come to an end" said Iraq Veteran Travonte Aldrich.

"It's good to see young people across our state becoming more active in politics, and they should be.  It is the young people of our country who are making the majority of the sacrifices in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It's only right that we have a organized base of young people representing how the youth of our country feel toward the issues currently facing our nation" added Bryon Wellman II of South Carolina Young Democrats.
