Virginia Governor Has Proven Commitment to Young Voters
The Young Democrats of America congratulate Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia on his nomination as Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
“Young Democrats are thrilled with President-Elect Obama’s selection of Governor Kaine as DNC Chair,” said David Hardt, President of the Young Democrats of America and a member of the Democratic National Committee. “In Gov. Kaine, we know we are getting a proven ally for young voters and we look forward to working with the DNC to continue the historic gains we saw this year with the youth vote.”
“We are confident Gov. Kaine will deepen the DNC’s commitment to young voters and young leaders in the years to come,” said Crystal Strait, YDA’s Democratic National Committeewoman. “This is a watershed moment for the Democratic Party to solidify a generation of young voters.”
“Governor Kaine will be a strong voice for Democrats across the country, reaching out not only to young voters, but voters in rural areas, swing states, and other voters that helped us keep this historic coalition together,” said Francisco Domenech, YDA’s Democratic National Committeeman. “Young Democrats can be proud to have a leader like Tim Kaine at the helm of our party.”
“Tim Kaine has been a close friend of the Virginia Young Democrats for years,” said Jennifer Bissett, President of the Virginia Young Democrats. “In addition to being a dedicated, thoughtful and hardworking public servant, he is truly a visionary leader in the Democratic Party. We are all very excited that he will be bringing this experience to the DNC.”
