YDA's Hispanic Caucus has issued a press release praising the keynote address given last night by San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro:
“It was such an awe inspiring moment to witness San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, the first Latino to ever deliver a keynote address at a Democratic convention." said YDA Hispanic Caucus Director Philip Arroyo of Pureto Rico "This moment will forever remain in the memories of the current and next generation of young Hispanic leaders who will without a doubt hold it as a source of inspiration in moving forward in our fight for immigration reform and motivating young Latinos to enter public service.
Somewhere out there, there is a young latino or latina that was touched and inspired by Mayor Castro’s speech tonight, which could have very well motivated him or her to become the first Latino President of the United State in the near future. The Hispanic Caucus and the entire YDA family celebrates this historic moment with a renewed dedication to continue to give the good fight for Hispanics across America against the Republican agenda of exclusion and intolerance to diversity.”
